The Code of Conduct sets the ethical and professional standards expected of all members, students, fellows, partners, and associates of IIDMM.

Ten Principles That Guide Us

Principle 01

Professional Integrity

  • Act honestly, fairly, and transparently in all professional dealings.
  • Avoid practices that could mislead clients, employers, or the public.
  • False claims, plagiarism, or misrepresentation of qualifications, skills, or results are strictly prohibited.

Compliance with Laws & Regulations

  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards where you operate.
  • Respect intellectual property rights and avoid unauthorized use of copyrighted materials, data, or digital assets.
Principle 03

Confidentiality

  • Maintain confidentiality of all information obtained in professional duties unless legally required to disclose.
  • Personal or client data must not be shared, sold, or misused for personal gain.
Principle 04

Professional Competence & Development

  • Continuously develop skills and knowledge to remain relevant in digital marketing.
  • Only undertake work you are competent to perform, seeking guidance or training where necessary.

Ethical Marketing Practices

  • Ensure marketing practices are truthful, respectful, and socially responsible.
  • Avoid misleading advertisements, click fraud, fake followers, spamming, or manipulative strategies.
  • Respect diversity and avoid discriminatory or offensive content in campaigns.
Principle 06

Respect and Fairness

  • Treat clients, colleagues, students, and the public with dignity, fairness, and respect.
  • Harassment, discrimination, exploitation, or abusive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
Principle 07

Conflict of Interest

  • Declare any potential conflicts of interest that may influence professional judgment.
  • Personal interests should never compromise professional responsibilities.
Principle 08

Accountability

  • Be accountable for your actions, decisions, and recommendations.
  • Accept constructive criticism and be willing to correct mistakes promptly.
Principle 09

Use of IIDMM Designations

  • Use designations (AIDMM, MIDMM, FIDMM) only while in good standing with the Institute.
  • Misuse of designations, titles, or the IIDMM brand will result in disciplinary action.
Principle 10

Disciplinary Actions

  • Breaches of this Code may result in written warnings.
  • Suspension or termination of membership may apply.
  • Withdrawal of professional designatory titles or legal action may follow where necessary.
